Saturday's “Inquisition”

BMD Kougari Oval on Saturday, June 7 – 6.30pm
Referee: Jarrod Cole
Head to Head: Wynnum 7 Mackay 6
#intrustsupercup #WYNvMC

The Wynnum Manly Seagulls have a perfect seven from seven record at home at BMD Kougari Oval this year – a run of success they added to last weekend with their tight 26-20 victory over the Ipswich Jets. Their opponents this weekend the Mackay Cutters have struggled on the road so far this season and have only won one away game in seven attempts – a 34-28 win over the Central Queensland Capras in round 9. This weekend however, they will be buoyed by the fact they defeated the Seagulls in their match in Mackay in round 4 earlier this year, coming out on top with a close 12-4 result. Wynnum Manly coach Jon Buchanan has been able to name an unchanged side, with the only adjustment to last week’s winning side seeing Jon Grieve starting with Graham Clark to the bench. For the Cutters – skipper Tyson Martin and forward Aleki Falepaini have both been sidelined by injuries. Outside back Liam Taylor has been named captain in his absence, while Niko Mataia and Josh Osborne will both come into the side for the injured players.

‘Dobbo’ says: You’ve got to go with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls at home, especially with Jake Granville in such ominous form. The Gulls haven’t lost at home this year and it’s hard to see an inconsistent Mackay team getting over them here. Wynnum Manly Seagulls by 14.

* From 3.30pm, fans can listen to the “Inquisition”, hosted by Bay FM's Sports Show's John Devine and Wynnum CEO Phil Reeves. It features around the ground live updates, reviews and previews of the four Saturday fixtures.
