REEVES IS FLYING HIGH TO TAKE OVER AS CEO OF THE GULLS

Wynnum Seagulls Football Club announced former Qld Government Sports Minister Phil Reeves as its new CEO, replacing Scott Thornton who is leaving the club to pursue a Career in Law.

Chairman Rick Green today confirmed the appointment of Phil Reeves as the new CEO at the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.  Green said “as a club we are very glad to have a person with such a great background in business, government and sport who has agreed to come on board with our club”.

Rick Green also stated “Phil who has a Degree of Sports Management and Marketing has been involved in all levels of game in the past including assisting with the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles last year.  I am looking forward to working with Phil and seeing where the club goes under his care.”

Phil Reeves is looking forward to continuing his association with the Intrust Super Cup through Wynnum and contributing to the growth of the game and local clubs after his experience last year, saying “It is a great honour to be chosen for this role with a club steeped in history like Wynnum Seagulls”  Phil Reeves said.

“ I will look forward in working closely with the Seagulls Board, Players, Staff and Supporters and it will be terrific to work in partnership with the Leagues Club in particularly Arthur Lovell a person I have great admiration and respect  for” Phil Reeves stated.

“I look forward to building and improving on a successful Footy Club and brand like Wynnum Seagulls” Phil Reeves also said.

Phil Reeves will start on February 10th and will have to hit the ground running.  February is a big month for Seagulls with the new CEO starting and the Club hosting a massive Trial between the Broncos and Titans on the 15th February.

Early trial games on the 15th February start 2:30pm FOGS A Grade V Easts followed by FOGS Colts & Intrust Super Cup Teams v Tweed.

Gates open 1.30pm with the NRL Trial at 7.30pm.
